| Can I make requests for a particular song? [Top] Yes, however you will need to register and login to the site as well as pick a Channel from the Channel Selector to the left.
Once you have completed these steps you will see an option to "Make a Request" in the Navigation pane to the left. |
| How do I register for this site? [Top] Simply click the register link in the navigation pane to the left and follow the instuctions provided. You will need to supply a valid email address. |
| Why are some songs unavailable for request? [Top] To avoid repeat artist or track play we limit the amount of times a song or artist can be requested. Remember that you are sharing this system with everyone else and while you may have not heard your song others may have been listening for longer and have. Simply wait for the song to come available. Currently our system makes tracks which played within the last 4 hours unavailable and artist who have played in the last hour are unavailable as well. We promise that it will be available for request once this period has expired. |
| Why can't I request any songs?/How many songs can I request? [Top] You are only allowed to request 2 songs per hour. Once you have hit your limit requesting for that channel will be unavailable. Use the favorites feature to save songs you wish to request for later.
All limitations are rolling timeframes so spread your requesting out for maximum enjoyability.
Other limitations include a 10 request per day limitation. |
| You don't have a song I like, what can I do? [Top] Simply fill out the Artist, Title, and Album information out on the Make a Suggestion form at the bottom of the request page.
We will review your suggestion and if the station's Music Director feels it is appropriate it may be added. |
| My suggestion was declined, what can I do? [Top] Nothing really, all decisions made by the Music Director are final. However at some point in the future the Music Director may at his own discretion add it. However repeatedly appealing a decision will make it less likely. |
| Why aren't their any advertisements? Will you sell or trade ad space? [Top] Currently this community is driven by the broadcaster oriented site, www.radiotoolbox.com. The techniques and experiements run here are used to drive articles and discussions with real world experiementation in the community through sites like this one. We currently have plans to structure some advertising in at some point but it isn't going to happen in the foreseeable future. |
| Where do you get the bandwidth for the audio streams. [Top] All bandwidth is by donation, the majority of donation comes from the stream host provider who make themselves available to radio toolbox for testing. You can see their respective sites at http://www.radiotoolbox.com/hosts/ |
| Can I donate resources to your station? [Top] Currently the biggest thing needed is bandwidth. If you have access to some and you have the authority to make decisions on it's use then feel free to make it available to us by providing an server relay. This will help more users like yourself access the stream. There is a quality minimum though. We ask that all relays provide at least 10mbps to all or one channel. The channel chosen is up to you. Contact KXRM via PM in the forum for details and permission before setting up a relay. Unwanted or annoying relays will be banned. |
| Can I donate money or music to the site? [Top] No, due to current legal and binding agreements we are not allowed to accept listener contributed music. We have no way to accept cash or money for donation either nor do we plan to. |
| Is there anything I can do to help you guys out? [Top] Certainly, tell your friends, and spread the word about this great station you found. Also feel free to pick up a t-shirt from the Shop link on the left and keep listening and enjoying what we bring you. Without our listeners we would probably still do this but it wouldn't be as fun ;) |

| I can't connect to the stream, what do I do? [Top] We cannot guarantee access to any of our streams or services. Our service is provided at a "best effort" level. If server donations are low access to a given stream maybe extremely difficult. |
